Welcome to Soft Landing Counseling!
My name is Samantha Edwards, and I am excited to embark on this journey with you.
As a firm believer in the power of the human spirit, I hold the conviction that each individual possesses the innate ability to heal and grow. My role as a therapist is not to dictate solutions but to provide support and resources that nurture your inherent resilience.
Over the last decade, I’ve had the privilege of working in diverse settings, addressing a range of issues such as family relationships, trauma, mood disorders, chronic illness, grief, LGBTQI+ concerns, and co-occurring developmental disorders. My training in TF-CBT, EMDR, DBT, and other modalities equips me to tailor therapy to your specific needs.
While I work with individuals across the lifespan, my heart lies in supporting children, adolescents, and their families through life’s challenges. I am deeply passionate about guiding kids through difficult experiences like trauma and helping to strengthen the support system within the family and beyond.
But my dedication extends beyond the younger years – I find immense joy in assisting adults in uncovering their potential and achieving a sense of balance in their lives.
I firmly believe that therapy is most effective when it’s the right fit for you. That’s why I offer a complimentary 15-20 minute consultation to ensure that we are a good match.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. Whether you’re seeking support for yourself or your child, I am here to walk alongside you on your journey towards healing and growth.
Warm regards,
Samantha
I get it. Life is inherently risky & complicated.
Life sucks sometimes, and we all deserve support when it happens. I cannot take away the risk or complexity for you, but I am here to help you find the tools so that, moving forward, things can be a little less hard, and maybe, a bit easier.
Everyone has the capacity to heal, grow, and change.
The human spirit has an impressive ability to adapt & evolve.
Evidence-based practices are key.
Therapy is healthcare, and healthcare is a science based on proven clinical research from around the world. It is my responsibility as a provider to use tools and techniques in therapy that are shown by evidence in research to be effective.
The work takes work.
Therapy doesn’t end when you leave the room. A lot of growth and development happens by putting what we discuss into practice between and beyond our sessions.
Be a follower.
While I am here to help set you goals, provide support, and work alongside you, I am not here to dictate solutions. Therapy is a collaboration, but you are the leader. Your feedback and involvement in determining what you hope to get out of therapy is vital to success.
All are welcome.
The idea that every human being deserves to feel respected, empowered, and validated has always been a core value in my life. As a therapist, I see it as my responsibility to cultivate a space where everyone — regardless of identities, experiences, or culture — feels welcome.
